Crawling Back

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Hey guys, John Tew sent me a link to this clip this morning and I thought you’d be interested in checking it out. The text below is John’s.

Imagine it is 1965. You are a fly on the wall at Roy Orbisons house. Bill Dees drives up for a brainstorming session with Roy. He strolls in, sits down, strums his guitar and says I wrote this last night, Roy. Tell me what you think about it. Then he sings Crawling Back. Listen and watch and pretend…………………..This is actually from a private gathering of Roy Orbison fans in December 2008. Video courtsey of Rob Burroughs, New York. Bill is always entertaining and a true gentleman. If you have never had the pleasure of meeting him you have missed a treat. In addition to Crawling Back, Bill co-wrote Pretty Woman, Its Over, Ride Away, and many more of Roys hit records. At age 70 he is still going strong. He is dearly loved by the faithful.

Our Bill Dees will be joining us AND entertaining us.  Thanks in advance Bill!!! His new CD “Where Does The Time Go?” is another awesome masterpiece created by Bill Dees and Jack Pribek.

Also, Fred Foster is looking forward to a visit and is very excited about the new box set!
And Phyllis will be asking other friends in the area to join us.
Let’s have ourselves a party!!!
MERCY!
Susan

Mercy! is right. Bust out the chocolate Yoo Hoo Susan and don’t forget about the green M&Ms.

I got to share this; last night when Susan got in touch I said, “Send me the details about the Hootenanny!”

She was very quick to tell me “it is not a hootenanny!?!?!?”. Well, you are going to have food there, maybe some adult beverages for those who wish to partake, some music, great people…sounds like a Hootenanny to me but, I may be wrong.

You tell me…Hootenanny or no?
