yes, January 24th, our bill Dees would have been 74…….so sad,

and now, the loss of his son, Fred

wonder if anyone is reading this stuff, I wish we could keep this site

going for Bill……….

wish his music was still playing,….yes, I have his cd’s, but, it is just

nice to come here……..

Great interview, very entertaining, informative and emotional. Our KOOL 105.5 (KWCO Chickasha, OK) mid-day DJ Don Collett was telling me how he sang ‘Pretty Woman’ at Karaoke in Borger, TX where he worked at the radio station, and afterwards a man came up and said to him “That was one of the best renditions of that song I have ever heard.” He later found out it was Bill Dees. Thats pretty cool. Love the fact that Bill also lived in Ft Smith, where I spend time as a kid, and grew up to be a DJ, spinning roy Orbison songs on Pop and Country. Still a huge fan, of both these men.

I shall always treasure this wonderfull gift from him……..

Soon, I will be having another B’Day……only wish he could be able to sing to

me again,……would be the best GIFT of my life,……..

Was a great week in Hendersonville……with Bill and Jack,
and all our friends that gather there every year, in April…..to celebrate Roy Orbison’s B’Day,……but, let me tell ya, without Bill Dees, co-writer with Roy of many wonderfull songs,……..there would be no gathering,……Bill Dees has
help keep Roy’s music alive………Bill, who himself is “a living legend”
yes, would be great if this page could be more active……..there are many fan/friends out there for Bill Dees……wanting to hear from him……

Hello Bill Dees and fans,
Haven’t been by here in a while. Great article about Bill and Wes Helm and it has been 40 years ago. Where does the time go? I spoke to Lyle a few years ago when he was visiting with Bill. Check out his versions of Bill’s two songs mentioned above on his CD, “Cutting Room Floor”. Great CD!
Hope We, the fans can bring this site alive again. It is a winner for sure.
It was great to see Bill in Hendersonville just a couple of weeks ago along with Jack Pribek. These two got Bill’s three CD’s published, etc., etc., etc., and the beat goes on! What talented fellows. Great to see everyone!
